Astronauts Thank Trump As Another Biden Mess Gets Cleaned Up

Two astronauts who spent nearly a year in space are back on U.S. soil — and they’re crediting President Donald Trump, not the current occupant of the White House, for stepping in. Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore offered their first public comments since being rescued, and their words made clear who they believe paid attention when it mattered.

Speaking to Fox News, Wilmore said he was “grateful” that national leaders like Trump are taking part in the space program. His message was blunt: “I trust you. You’ve given me no reason not to.”

He added that leadership from the top makes a difference. “It’s refreshing. Not just refreshing — it’s empowering,” Wilmore said, noting how Trump and Elon Musk had become active players in the program.

Williams, too, praised the involvement of Trump and Musk. She highlighted how their situation — being stranded in space for months — finally drew serious attention from those who “take notice.”

She said the moment underscored how crucial U.S. leadership in space truly is. Williams emphasized the need not only to send astronauts into orbit but also to “bring us back.” That remark stood out, coming after months of what critics called inaction from the Biden administration.

Despite a rescue window being possible earlier, the astronauts only returned on March 18. Musk had reportedly been ready to act privately long before federal agencies moved.

Asked whether Boeing was at fault for the extended delay, Williams declined to assign blame. Wilmore said everyone involved bore some responsibility, including NASA.

Still, the astronauts made it clear that some leaders stood out in a crisis — and others didn’t. Their praise for Trump and Musk, coupled with pointed remarks about who stepped in and who didn’t, are drawing attention far beyond Houston’s mission control.
