Border Crisis Continues: Smuggler Arrested Crossing Border With Young Girl
Texas law enforcement has uncovered a chilling case of child smuggling involving a five-year-old girl and an illegal immigrant near Del Rio. The girl’s mother, residing in North Carolina, reportedly paid $8,000 for the illegal transport, using an online service to connect with the smugglers.
The smuggler, apprehended during a vehicle stop, has a history of child trafficking and was previously arrested in 2022 for similar offenses. Lt. Chris Olivarez of the Texas Department of Public Safety suggested charges against the mother for endangering her child, though the decision lies with the district attorney.
President-elect Donald Trump’s administration is preparing to take decisive action on border security, appointing Tom Homan as border czar. Homan’s strategy involves shifting administrative tasks to contractors, enabling law enforcement to focus entirely on enforcement and deportation.
“We’re doubling our manpower in areas resistant to federal immigration enforcement,” Homan said, outlining his plans to address sanctuary state defiance.
This arrest highlights the real human cost of ineffective border policies and the critical need for reforms to prevent further exploitation of vulnerable children.
