Diddy Responds To Viral Video Showing Him Violently Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend

Sean “Diddy” Combs has broken his silence after a disturbing video surfaced showing him attacking his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016. The music mogul took to Instagram on Sunday to address the footage and apologize for his actions.

In the video, which was obtained by CNN, Combs can be seen chasing after Ventura in the hallway of the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. He grabs her by the neck, throws her to the ground, and kicks her repeatedly before dragging her back to their room.

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life. Sometimes you got to do that,” Combs said in his Instagram post. “I was f*cked up. I mean I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”

Combs went on to say that he is “disgusted” by his actions and has sought professional help, including therapy and rehab. He also asked for God’s mercy and grace.

The incident occurred on March 5, 2016, and Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, alleging physical violence and sexual abuse throughout their relationship. The suit was settled for an undisclosed amount the day it was filed.

Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles were raided by federal agents in March as part of an ongoing sex-trafficking investigation. The rapper has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting young women.

Despite the apology video, Combs did not directly mention Ventura or the specific incident. He did, however, express his commitment to being a better man each day and said he is not asking for forgiveness but is truly sorry.
