Donald Trump: ‘My Revenge Will Be Success”

Former President Donald Trump deflated concerns his second term might amount to a “revenge” administration when he said, “My revenge will be success,” during a Fox News town hall in South Carolina on Tuesday night.

A town hall attendee asked Trump how he would win over independents and moderates who like his policies but fear he might be obsessed with retribution on those who have made his life miserable with seemingly endless attacks.

“I don’t care about the revenge thing,” Trump replied. “My revenge will be success.”

Trump’s answer drew a round of raucous applause from the audience.

The answer was prefaced by Trump laying out his successes during his first four years in office.

“I did it before,” Trump said. “We had a great four years in office.” He then cited his administration’s successful economy, success with the military and success in foreign affairs.

“‘Success’ is the word I’m using to answer your question,” Trump continued. Pollsters were telling Trump just before the pandemic, “If Abraham Lincoln and George Washington came back from the dead, they couldn’t beat you,” in the next election.

“Everybody was happy,” Trump said. “African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic American[s].” In short, all Americans were feeling good about Trump. That’s what he means by success.

Trump went on to take further questions and stated that he would like to debate Joe Biden “starting now,” according to The National Pulse

As far as Biden’s open border policies go, Trump said he is concerned about immigrants from Yemen, the Congo and China. When elected, he plans to “get the bad ones out first.”

Coining the term “migrant crime” to describe a new category of crime that involves attacks on police officers, Trump said “migrant crime” is “worse than any other kind of crime.”

He then said, “I had the safest border in recorded history,” another success he would like to repeat.

Trump was dismissive of his legal issues, including the civil fraud case in New York where Trump was recently ordered to fork over $350 million in fines.

Citing the 8th amendment’s clause of “excessive fines,” Trump called the judge who presided over the case a “nutjob” and New York Attorney General Leticia James “horrible.”

“If I were losing in the polls, they wouldn’t even be talking about me,” Trump said. “Although I think they hate me so much even if I got out [of the race], they’d say ‘Hey, let’s pursue this guy.’”

The town hall also saw Trump address issues like Ukraine funding, mail-in ballot voter fraud, Nikki Haley still being in the GOP primary and potential vice president picks.

Trump maintained a positive vision throughout the town hall and is only interested in revenge when it is synonymous with success for America.
