Florida Lawmaker Claims White House Hid Iranian Threats To Trump
A Florida congressman has accused the Biden administration of trying to hide Iranian plots against former President Donald Trump. Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) told Fox News that ongoing threats to the GOP leader are being downplayed by the White House.
Waltz spoke on “Sunday Morning Futures” about what he sees as a pattern of dangerous behavior. He pointed to a recent case where a Pakistani national was charged with planning to kill Trump. The lawmaker said this wasn’t just a one-time thing, but part of a bigger Iranian plan.
“These plots from Iran are ongoing,” Waltz stated. He criticized President Biden and Vice President Harris for staying silent on the issue. The congressman believes this silence sends a message to Iran that they can keep trying to harm Trump without facing consequences.
Waltz also brought up a reported hack of Trump’s campaign. He said Iran is actively trying to interfere with the 2024 election because they don’t want Trump back in office.
The Florida representative linked these actions to Trump’s tough stance on Iran during his presidency. “He held them accountable,” Waltz explained, suggesting that Iran fears another Trump term.
In contrast, Waltz accused the current administration of being soft on Iran. He implied that Biden and Harris are seen as “sympathizers” by the Iranian regime.
The congressman’s comments highlight growing concerns among Republicans about national security and the safety of political figures. As the 2024 election approaches, these issues are likely to remain at the forefront of political discussions.
Iran has denied any involvement in trying to influence the U.S. election. However, Waltz’s statements reflect a deep distrust of the Iranian regime among many conservatives.
