Hollywood Joins Forces With Democratic Strategists To Launch Pro-Biden Super PAC

With less than five months until the November election, a new super PAC called “Won’t PAC Down” has been formed through a collaboration between Hollywood employees and Democratic political strategists. The group aims to reach out to younger voters who have become increasingly disillusioned with President Joe Biden due to various issues, including the war in Israel, the environment, the student loan crisis, and inflation.

Won’t PAC Down has recruited writers, directors, and producers from Hollywood, mostly within the Millennial and Gen Z age range, to create professionally crafted pro-Biden content. The group plans to raise and spend between $20 million and $25 million on their efforts, with their first ads expected to air in early July, primarily on social media and streaming platforms.

The PAC’s members believe that content created by young voters will have a better chance of connecting with their target audience. As a result, their ads will not rely on the traditional Hollywood approach of simply featuring well-known celebrities.

Travis Helwig, a former head writer for Crooked Media and current member of the PAC’s writing staff, highlighted the difference between their strategy and simply having celebrities endorse voting.

While the Biden campaign is legally prohibited from coordinating with the PAC, it has issued a statement supporting the initiative. Julie Chavez Rodriguez, the Biden 2024 campaign manager, recognized the crucial role that groups like Won’t PAC Down will play in mobilizing and activating young people nationwide.
