House Report Reveals Surge In CCP Espionage During Biden-Harris Term
A congressional report from the House Homeland Security Committee has revealed a sharp increase in Chinese Communist Party (CCP) espionage and surveillance activities in the U.S. since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office. The report, released Thursday by the committee’s Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence, provides detailed accounts of CCP-linked espionage, raising alarm bells across the nation.
According to the report, over 55 cases of Chinese spying were documented in 20 states between January 2021 and October 2024. These activities include theft of trade secrets, espionage against the military, and intimidation of Chinese dissidents. Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) expressed concern, saying that “Beijing has continually encroached upon American sovereignty.”
One of the most significant incidents involved Ji Chaoqun, who was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2023 for working as an illegal agent of China. His mission involved recruiting American scientists and engineers to steal cutting-edge technologies for the CCP. Additionally, the report highlights an attempted breach at a Marine Corps base in California by Chinese operatives earlier this year.
The report also sheds light on a troubling increase in apprehensions of Chinese nationals at the U.S.-Mexico border. In 2024 alone, over 36,000 Chinese individuals were detained, a figure that dwarfs the total apprehensions from 2007 to 2020.
As CCP activities grow more aggressive, the Biden-Harris administration faces increasing criticism over its response to Chinese espionage. The report also points to growing concerns over Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s alleged connections to China, prompting further investigations.
