Jake Tapper’s Credibility Crumbles As Court Exposes His Lies

CNN anchor Jake Tapper, known for his relentless criticism of President Donald Trump and his biased coverage of the January 6 protests, is now facing serious legal trouble. During a high-stakes defamation trial, Tapper’s own words and social media posts have been used against him, exposing him as dishonest under oath.

Tapper is caught in the middle of a billion-dollar lawsuit filed by U.S. Navy veteran Zachary Young. Young accuses CNN of falsely portraying him as someone who profited off desperate Afghans fleeing the country after the disastrous Biden administration withdrawal. Tapper’s show, The Lead with Jake Tapper, ran the report in November 2021, implying Young engaged in black market dealings that damaged his professional reputation.

During his sworn deposition, Tapper claimed, “I do not pay attention to the Nielsen ratings.” However, internet sleuths quickly uncovered multiple posts on X and Facebook where Tapper bragged about his show’s ratings. One post from March 2024 celebrated high ratings for his special, directly contradicting his courtroom statement.

Lying under oath is a federal crime. The Department of Justice defines perjury as knowingly making a false statement after swearing to tell the truth. Tapper’s clear contradictions have led many to believe he has committed perjury, which could escalate his problems beyond this defamation case.

Tapper’s public history of attacking Trump supporters and downplaying violent riots across the nation has now come full circle. His behavior on and off the air raises serious concerns about CNN’s credibility.

If the court determines that Tapper lied under oath, the consequences could be severe, potentially tarnishing both his career and CNN’s reputation.
