Montana Democrat Operative Caught Tampering With Ballot Box In Key Senate Race
A Democrat operative in Montana, Laszlo Gendler, was caught on surveillance video tampering with an election ballot drop box in Glacier County. The video, obtained by Fox News, shows Gendler attempting to tear the box off the wall, prompting concerns about election security. Gendler is linked to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), which supports incumbent Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) in his battle against GOP candidate Tim Sheehy.
Election officials in Glacier County reported the suspicious activity to the Montana Secretary of State’s office. Communications Director Richie Melby confirmed that Gendler was identified in the footage and that the matter has been referred to local law enforcement for further investigation. Gendler allegedly claimed he was sent to check the security of the ballot box.

Glacier County Election Administrator Crystal R. Cole expressed concern that the Montana Democratic Party failed to inform her office about the inspection, adding to suspicions surrounding the incident. Cole noted that the box was under 24/7 surveillance and the tampering attempt raised alarms.
The Senate race between Tester and Sheehy has gained national attention, with recent polls showing Sheehy leading by 6 to 8 points. Republicans need just two more seats to gain control of the Senate, making Montana’s race critical.
