Soros-Funded Site In Nevada Amplifies Democrat Talking Points, Attacks Trump
A Soros-funded news outlet is ramping up its influence in Nevada, targeting President Donald Trump and boosting Democrats like Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) through a barrage of digital ads. The Nevadan, part of the Courier Newsroom network, has been accused of spreading misleading content disguised as local news.
Courier Newsroom, founded by Democrat operative Tara McGowan, has been flagged by critics and media watchdogs alike. NewsGuard described Courier as a “clandestine political operation” that deceives voters by packaging biased content as neutral reporting. The network’s sites, including The Nevadan, have been active in swing states since their inception, strategically launching in areas crucial for Democrat victories.
In recent weeks, The Nevadan has pushed stories suggesting Trump plans to reinstate the military draft—a baseless claim Trump has denied. The content is promoted through targeted ads on social media, specifically aimed at undecided voters.
This type of stealth campaigning is funded largely by Soros, who has contributed an estimated $20 million to the effort through his Open Society Foundations. The network’s reach is further bolstered by a 2022 Federal Election Commission ruling that exempts Courier from financial transparency rules by classifying it as a news organization.
As the election cycle intensifies, The Nevadan is expected to continue its efforts to discredit Trump while promoting vulnerable Democrats, leaving voters with content that appears like traditional local news but is anything but impartial.
