Trump Surges Ahead In Key Battleground States Of Michigan And Wisconsin

A new Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday shows President Donald Trump gaining significant momentum in the crucial battleground states of Michigan and Wisconsin. Trump now leads Vice President Kamala Harris in both states as the 2024 election approaches, positioning him as a strong contender for their critical electoral votes.

In Michigan, Trump has gained three points since the last poll in September, now holding 50% support compared to Harris’ 47%. In Wisconsin, the former president leads with 48% to Harris’ 46%. Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, Harris holds a narrow lead at 49% to Trump’s 46%, but Trump’s surge in the other two battleground states reflects a growing trend of support.

The poll also asked voters which candidate they believed would perform better on key issues. Trump outscored Harris in nearly every category, except abortion. On issues such as the economy, immigration and crisis management, Trump was seen as the stronger candidate. For example, in Michigan, Trump led Harris 54% to 45% on the economy and in Wisconsin, he led 53% to 44% on the same issue.

Despite the media frenzy surrounding Harris’ recent debate performance, the poll showed she received no post-debate bounce. Trump’s continued dominance on issues like the economy and foreign affairs signals a growing challenge for Harris as Election Day nears.

Democratic mail-in voting has also decreased in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, signaling a potential lack of enthusiasm for Harris. As Trump strengthens his position in these battleground states, the path to victory for Harris becomes increasingly uncertain.
