Zeldin Moves To Reclaim $20 Billion Biden EPA Shifted To Outside Groups

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin is taking action to recover $20 billion in taxpayer funds that the Biden administration redirected to climate organizations with ties to the left. The money, which was moved to an outside financial institution, was distributed with reduced government oversight, according to Zeldin.

Documents reviewed by the EPA revealed that Biden’s team [worked] to rush funding out the door before leaving office. A video recorded by Project Veritas last December [captured] a Biden EPA staffer admitting the agency aimed to “get the money out as fast as possible” before the Trump administration took over. Zeldin [described] this as an intentional effort to prevent accountability, comparing it to “tossing gold bars off the Titanic.”

Zeldin is [demanding] that the financial institution return the money to the government, stating that oversight must be restored. The EPA will also [refer] the matter to the Office of the Inspector General and Congress for further investigation. The Department of Justice is expected to be involved in [reviewing] the handling of the funds.

The funds were originally allocated under Biden’s National Clean Investment Fund, which provided grants to climate-focused groups. Among the recipients was the Climate United Fund, which received nearly $7 billion. The organization has ties to Biden’s policies and has emphasized advancing equity-based initiatives.

Another recipient, the Coalition for Green Capital, was awarded $5 billion to operate what it called the “first United States national green bank.” Its leadership includes figures from left-wing organizations such as the AFL-CIO and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

In addition to [reclaiming] these funds, Zeldin has already [halted] a $50 million environmental justice grant and [cut] nearly half a million dollars in EPA media subscriptions. He has stated his commitment to [conducting] a full review of agency spending.
