Heartwarming Reunion Between Child, Vendor Caught On Video

Mainstream and social media has long been dominated by bad news, particularly in New York City where soaring prices, rampant crime and unchecked illegal immigration has made life particularly challenging for many residents.

Nevertheless, one recent encounter between a young girl and a pretzel vendor in the Big Apple has managed to break through the negativity with widespread approval from across the ideological spectrum.

An Instagram post shows the child run toward the food cart operators and give him a huge hug as he bent over to welcome her. According to an accompanying caption from the girl’s mother, the two have sparked an unlikely friendship based on the vendor’s friendliness and his cart’s proximity to the girl’s school.

“The sweetest pretzel man: he parks his cart outside of my daughter’s school and she loves giving him high fives when she walks by,” the post explained.

After returning from a week-long vacation, the user added that her daughter was anxious to reunite with the vendor.

“When I picked her up from school today, she literally ran into his arms,” she wrote.
While the moment might have been fairly unremarkable on its own, the video clearly struck a chord with many who viewed it, causing the post to spread far and wide on the social media platform.
“I got emotional when I had to say goodbye to my coffee cart man when I moved from NYC,” one response read. “They become stitches in the fabric of your daily life.“

Another user echoed that sentiment, writing: “This is exactly how I think New York kids grow up. Favorite vendor since childhood, same bodega spot so cute.”

Other interactions between children and the adults who provide important services in their lives have similarly gone viral.

Late last year, a UPS delivery driver in Connecticut received a heaping dose of appreciation from one young child on his route.

The 2-year-old thanked driver Frank Sims for delivering the package and then gave him a big hug, declaring: “I love you!”

Sims reciprocated, concluding that “we need lots of love in the world.”

Before leaving, he identified himself as “Santa’s helper when he’s really busy,” telling the child that he would “send a message to Santa.”
