Trump Campaign Expresses Concern Over RFK Jr.’s Conservative Media Appearances

As independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. continues to raise concerns about his potential to spoil the 2024 race, former President Donald Trump’s campaign is lamenting his frequent appearances on conservative media outlets. The Trump campaign’s unease underscores the belief that Kennedy could siphon votes from the Republican candidate.

“It’s concerning and beyond logic,” Trump’s co-campaign manager Chris LaCivita told Politico in a statement commenting on Kennedy’s media strategy. Politico noted that nearly half of the 69 media appearances listed on Kennedy’s website were with conservative conservative-leaning or libertarian-leaning hosts.

The Trump campaign’s remarks come as Kennedy has faced accusations from both parties of being a potential spoiler in the closely contested race against President Joe Biden. Trump himself recently called Kennedy a “Democratic ‘Plant'” in a Truth Social post warning that a vote for Kennedy would be a “wasted protest vote.”

Kennedy has pushed back against these claims presenting internal polling data that he says shows a path to victory over Trump in a scenario where Biden is not on the ballot. He has also called on Biden to take a “no spoiler pledge” and drop out of the race if polls indicate that Kennedy would fare better against Trump in a head-to-head matchup.

The Democratic National Committee has dismissed Kennedy’s proposal as “deeply unserious” reflecting the concerns from both sides about his impact on the race.
