RFK Jr. Blasts Biden’s Politicization Of Secret Service Protection

The recent recommendation by a congressional advisory committee that GOP presidential primary candidate Nikki Haley should receive Secret Service protection has sparked renewed election year controversy. The situation demonstrates what many see as a clear display of political favoritism within the Biden administration.

While Haley, a former U.N. ambassador, is on the verge of being granted such protection, similar requests by independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have been summarily rejected. Kennedy is now taking note of the double standards at play.

Kennedy, who first requested Secret Service protection last May, has been denied three times. Despite submitting a detailed 63-page declaration and facing documented threats, his requests have been turned down by now-impeached Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, following the advice of a congressional advisory committee.

The summary denials make Kennedy the first candidate in 55 years to be refused Secret Service coverage, a fact that Kennedy describes as “blatant election interference” aimed at draining his campaign funds and stifling the grassroots movement he leads.

Kennedy’s own words on X, formerly known as Twitter, resonate with a sense of injustice: “Refusing me Secret Service protection is a way to drain my campaign funds and stop the movement we’re building together. They want us out of the race by any means necessary.”

Meanwhile, Nikki Haley’s forthcoming protection highlights the establishment’s favoritism toward some candidates over others. This move can be seen as part of a broader strategy by the establishment to promote figures like Haley, who align more closely with their interests, over outsider candidates like Kennedy and President Donald Trump.

The disparity in treatment between Haley and Kennedy underscores a worrisome trend in American politics — the use of government resources and decisions as tools to influence the political landscape. This is not just about allocating Secret Service protection but about the fairness and transparency of our democratic processes. As Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) aptly tweeted, “Mr. Kennedy should be afforded protection.”
