Fetterman Slams Biden For ‘Not Standing Firmly With Israel’

During a Sunday interview on CNN, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) condemned President Joe Biden’s lack of support for Israel amid the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East — arguing that the president has failed to stand “firmly” with the Jewish state after it faced an unprecedented attack from Iran.

On Saturday evening, Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles — including 185 one-way suicide drones, 110 surface-to-surface missiles and 36 cruise missiles — at Israeli territory. According to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, 99% of those airstrikes were successfully intercepted by Israel with the help of the United States, the United Kingdom and Jordan. In response to Iran’s first-ever direct attack on Israel, Biden has offered weak support for the Jewish state while demanding that they do not retaliate against Iran for the attack.

Fetterman slammed Biden for his response while discussing the attack with CNN host Jake Tapper, stating that it was “astonishing that we are not standing firmly with Israel, and there should never be any kinds of conditions and all that.”

“When a nation can launch hundreds of drones towards Israel, I’m not going to be talking about conditions — ever,” he continued, later adding that he supported Israel’s previous airstrike on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, Syria, several weeks ago, which prompted Iran’s attack this weekend.

Fetterman also responded to the reports indicating that Biden had told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday that the U.S. would not support any Israeli military response for the attack.

“I don’t agree with that,” the Democrat senator said, adding: “And I just think we should follow and have Israel’s back in this situation. I don’t agree with the president.”

Fetterman went on to declare that he would “never capitulate to the fringe” — referring to the radical far-left within the Democrat Party, many of whom have outright stated their support for Iran-backed Hamas terrorists and praised Hamas’ massacre of more than 1,000 innocent people and kidnapping of hundreds more on Oct. 7, 2023.

“I will never pander to that as well,” he added. “In fact, that helps — that empowers Hamas. And Hamas is actually convinced that they are winning the PR war, and they’re never going to negotiate at this point.”

“They think they’re going to hold on to the very end,” Fetterman continued. “And I know why they’re not willing to provide any kind of proof of life. And I don’t know why there’s not more of that conversation in the media. Like, what about the hostages? What’s happened to them? Where are they now? And let’s just bring them home.”

This is far from the first time that Fetterman showed his support for Israel, as he has made numerous statements in support of the Jewish nation and has even taunted anti-Israel protesters in the past.

During one instance in late January, Fetterman responded to anti-Israel protesters that showed up outside of his home by waving an Israeli flag at them from the roof of the building.

He was also seen waving an Israeli flag at anti-Israel protesters who were being arrested outside of the U.S. Capitol building in November 2023.

Fetterman even used his own cognitive impairment as a way to fire back at anti-Israel protesters who showed up to his campaign event in November 2023, responding to the interruption by stating: “The joke is on you. I had a stroke. I can’t fully understand what you are saying.”

The Democrat senator has also called out other nations for their anti-Israel stance, firing back at South Africa for stating that Israel’s war on Hamas in Palestine was a “genocide” — pointing to the hypocrisy of their comments considering the ongoing genocide of White farmers in South Africa.

“Maybe you ought to sit this one out!” Fetterman said.
